Jennifer Tanaka

Jenn Tanaka is an Orange County-based writer. She pens stories for EATER, OC Register, Southern California News Group, and was Coast magazine's managing editor for nearly a decade.

Jenn was among UC Irvine's first literary journalism graduates, studying under Pulitzer prize winning writer Barry Siegel. She worked for magazines such Food & Wine and The New Yorker, and curated content for an award-winning culinary driven website.

Jenn earned a culinary arts degree at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York. She staged at Le Bernardin, Eleven Madison Park, and Anita Lo’s Annisa Restaurant. She cooked for John Fraser’s Michelin award-winning restaurant group, tested recipes for a chocolatier in L.A., and cultivated a network of industry professionals before moving back to Orange County.
