As South Africa is celebrating Heritage Month, the country’s meteorite heritage has grown to over 50, with two recent new discoveries made by a South African farmer in the Northern Cape province. Not only did Wits experts confirm these as meteorites, but also showed that they are distinctly different, despite being found only a kilometre apart.

The newly refurbished and rebranded Wits Sibanye-Stillwater Innovation Bridge, a Wits Centenary Project funded by Sibanye-Stillwater, connects the East and West Braamfontein campuses and aligns with Wits’ strategy to develop an ‘innovation spine’ – geographic locations where brilliant minds unite to create impactful solutions across all disciplines.
