From Pomona to Temecula, churches marked the day that Christians believe Jesus Christ rose from the dead days after his crucifixion. They did so with prayers, sermons and songs.
At Purpose Church in Pomona, they commemorated Easter Sunday with baptisms in a pool of water, despite the weather.
Tim McAnlis, the church’s chief of operations, said the church would be “dealing hope all day” on Easter for anyone looking to participate.
Purpose Church also held an egg hunt, children’s concert and teen-focused sermons.
