Leila Garcia Obituary

Leila M. Garcia, 87, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2024, in her home. She was born on January 19, 1937, in Helsinki, Finland, the daughter of Onni and Astrid Partanen. Leila married George A. Garcia, a Major in the USAF on January 18, 1964. The family lived in postings all over the world and settled at Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino. She started her career in Retail Sales and became a successful Real Estate and Insurance Broker for over 45 years. She survived cancer in 2000 and helped other people with similar illnesses.Leila was predeceased by her husband George and her brothers Per-Olof, Nane, Veikko and her sister Hilka. She is survived by her son Lawrence Garcia, and daughters Shaune Nichols and Dawn Hamilton, as well as five grandchildren Kelcie Garcia, Erika Nichols, Spencer Hamilton, Tristen Nichols and Sydney Hamilton. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren Rylee, Jaiyah and Baby Boy Bell.A private Family Service will be held on April 23rd at Mt. View Cemetery in San Bernardino. The family suggests that any memorials for Leila go to any cancer organization.
