The Inland boys athlete of the week:

Name: Jaden McKee

School: King

Sport: Track and field

Year: Senior

Noteworthy: McKee set a new Riverside County record in the pole vault during last week’s rescheduled Big VIII League dual meet against Roosevelt. McKee, who is headed to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), cleared 16 feet and 10 inches at the meet, breaking the previous county record of 16-9 set by Roosevelt graduate and 2022 CIF State champion Hunter O’Brien. McKee ranks No. 1 in the state and No. 6 in the nation this season. He will now take aim at the long-standing Inland Empire record of 17-0 3/4 set by Matt Warwick of Hesperia in 1988.
