The Inland girls athlete of the week:

Name: Keelan Wright

School: Chaparral

Sport: Track and field

Year: Junior

Noteworthy: Wright was one of the breakout stars at this year’s Arcadia Invitational, as she claimed the invitational division titles in the 100 meters and 200 meters. Wright won the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.54 seconds, breaking the previous Riverside County record of 11.61 seconds that she jointly held with Madinah Ali of Canyon Springs (1995). Wright was slated to compete in the seeded division for the 200 meters but was moved into the invitational division after multiple scratches. She won the race in a time of 23.97 seconds, the ninth-fastest time in Riverside County history.
