The Inland girls athlete of the week:

Name: Aliyahna Morris

School: Etiwanda

Sports: Basketball

Year: Junior

Noteworthy: Morris, a 5-foot-5 point guard, scored a game-high 20 points and also led the team with five assists as the Eagles cruised to a 60-48 victory over Archbishop Mitty of San Jose in the CIF State Open Division championship game at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento. Etiwanda became the first girls program in state history to win the Open Division championship in back-to-back seasons. Morris — known to many by her nickname “Puff” — was tough to guard in this year’s state final, as she drew six fouls during the game. She averaged 15.1 points per game in seven postseason contests.
