Noteworthy: Spencer won the 300-meter hurdles title at the Laguna Beach Trophy Invitational and set a program record in the process. Spencer won the race in a time of 43.74 seconds, breaking the previous record of 44.03 seconds set by current teammate Samarra Blake at the Arcadia Invitational last season. Spencer’s time is the fastest by a CIF Southern Section girls athlete in the 300 hurdles this season. She also ranks No. 2 in the state behind Carlsbad’s Morgan Herbst (43.41 at the Don Jones Bronco Invitational). Spencer won the title in the 400 meters at the Don Jones Bronco Invitational.
