Noteworthy: Burries, a 6-foot-5 guard, tallied 31 points and 10 rebounds as the Mustangs avenged a previous loss with a 63-50 victory over Centennial in the Big VIII League tournament championship game. Roosevelt snapped Centennial’s 70-game league winning streak and claimed its first league title since 2017. Burries scored 10 points in the first quarter to help the Mustangs race to a 20-4 advantage. Burries is averaging approximately 26 points per game this season for the Mustangs, who received the No. 2 seed for the CIF Southern Section Open Division playoffs. Roosevelt opens the postseason at home Friday against JSerra.
